up-date… at last

It has been a very long time since I have up dated this blog. Too much work to much happening. At the moment I am residing in Ramsgate, with all my belongings in store in Edmonton waiting for me to successfully buy a new dwelling. Never mind, I have been progressing one or two pieces here is one “happy feet”.

“happy feet” started from a request to enter an exhibition to promote our local cinema campaign, ( the McGuffin’s), organised by a local framing service and gallery the E17 Art House, the request was for a print based on a favourite film. The direct inspiration came from Finish photographers Esa Mälkönen entry in the 2010 Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, “Back in, front out”.

They sure looked like “happy feet” to me. I montaged the picture into a larger group, cut it in vinyl and produced the print.

new year, new studio

The times they are a changing, after a somewhat traumatic year the new one finds me installed in a new studio in preparation for moving house.

Mitre Studios

The studios are at the moment a work in progress, we are moving in and building our nest, walls and sinks are being installed which in some cases is slowing down the creative juices, well thats my excuse anyway.

They are situated at 4a Mitre Ave, Walthamstow, London E17 6QG, (rear of 2 Greenleaf Road ). Almost impossible to find using Google maps as the post-code is miss positioned by Ordnance Survey, but fear not we are at the top of Greenleaf Road, near its junction with Hoe St, the entrance is under an arch formed by a building, down the end of the alleyway and up the stairs.

The we are my fellow artists, Della Rees, Kirsten Schmidt, Alke Schmidt, and Carn Giffiths, and we all sit on top of the Paekakariki Press, the letterpress enterprise run by Matte McKenzie. Do come and visit I will be there most weekday mornings, but best to contact me first just to make sure.
